Goa Express Train Accident – 13 Killed

On Wednesday morning, Goa Express and Mewar Express got accident as the engine of Goa Express climbed on the last bogey of the Mewar Express. The accident taken place near Bajna bridge in Mathura at around 5:00 am when both, Goa Express from Vasco & Mewar Express from Udaipur were about to arrive at Hazrat Nizamuddin and were route towards Delhi. At least nine passengers were lost their lives. The number of deaths has confirmed by the PRO of the DRM office, Agra. [smartads]

Around two dozen injured travelers have been admitted to nearly locate private hospital but still many travelers are trapped in the broken bogey. Villagers reached on the spot and helped the injured people. Electric cutters were used to save many people trapped in bogey.

The actual reasons for the accident are to be determined, however, it may be due to error in signals of trains on similar track.

Railway movement on Delhi-Agra track is affected badly. Paths of railway on Delhi-Chennai & Delhi-Mumbai track have been changed.
