Volkswagen launched its 1st Indian car “Polo” from its set in Chakan near Pune.

The major car manufacturer of Europe is intending to confine 8-10 % of the local market in the coming 4 to 6 years as it put out advance models & enlarge its distribution system in the nation.

Volkswagen had empowered 580 million euros, or Rs 3,800 crore, in the Chakan facility, Jochem Heizmann, who is the member of the Volkswagen board of management, explained that it was the biggest investment till date through a German company in India.

The Chakan plant covers yearly  aptitude of 1,10,000 units & will be put in manufacturing of  Skoda Fabia, the Polo hatchback & a sedan which will be launch in the last of the year. [smartads]

Along with Polo Volkswagen is planning to put the car of compact category

Heizmann said that the company is in the hope of attaining the target of 80% in the coming 2-3 years.

Currently, the stage of localisation is near 50%. Advanced localisation will be the hindrance in the offering items of Volkswagen at competitive rates.
