AICTE New Norms: Kapil Sibal Starts Online Approval System For New Institutions

It is informed that the AICTE India is commencing an online approval process from 10th Jan 2010 to set up new institutions for technical education. The approval will be granted to only MBA and MCA programs through distance learning.

Kapil Sibal- the Union HRD Minister presented a better program for the TE (technical education) sector enlaced with a severe approval and regulatory system. [smartads]

Now the new institutes of Engineering will be allowed to give admission to 240 – 300 candidates and 60 – 120 students in the new management institution. The flexibility of 25% has been given to management institutes to give admissions for PG Diploma in Management. Institutes can extend teaching hours. The second shift can be organized to utilize their resources. Foreign experts can be appointed on their Academic Boards

Notably, the land necessity criteria also have been stress-free by giving relief to the institutions. Now only 4 acres are required for any applicant in metro cities and there is the requirement of 2 ½ acres in the mega cities. In AICTE norms it was 5 acres in metro & 3 acres for mega.
