Pakistani players, Yousuf and Younus career end: PCB

Karachi, March 10, 2010: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) will not select the previous captains Younus Khan and Muhammad Yousuf after an investigation into the statements of infighting on the unsuccessful tour of Australia.

PCB imposes the recommendations of an inquiry committee to hand out the ban over the Pakistani players of twelve months to Rana Naved, Shoaib Malik and Shahid Afridi. The wicketkeeper Kamran Akmal has to pay the fine of three million rupees ($35,000) and Umar Akmal of two million rupees ($24,000).

Pakistan Cricket Board on Wednesday revealed in a sentence “Mohammed Yousuf and Younus Khan… attitude has a trickledown effect which is a bad influence for the whole team (and they) should not be part of (the) national team in any format,”
PCB also told “The recommendations of the inquiry committee will go a long way in arresting the continuing decline in Pakistan cricket.”

Pakistani players now lost every match which they are going against Australia in 3 tests matches, 5 one-day matches and in a single Twenty20 series. The head operating Wasim Bari with the six members are under the inquiry committee which pays attention on its recommendations on the news gathered during many hearing with the players as per told by the PCB.

Tafazzul Rizvi who was also present in the inquiry group revealed that Yousuf and Younus had the right to make an appeal and former captain Rashid Latif too anticipated them to win their cases. Latif also told to Reuters “You can’t hand out such severe punishments to players of the caliber of Yousuf and Younus Khan.” [smartads]

Another former Pakistani cricket team captain Inzamam-ul-Haq was also mocking at the judgments of PCB. Inzamam said “Why was action not taken earlier against these players? Why did the board keep quiet for so long when the team was on tour?”
