Girls again performed well than boys in CBSE X Standard 2010 Exams, Chennai topped in 2010

JAIPUR (DLN): Girls once more defeated boys, in CBSE X Standard 2010 Examination, the results of which were declared yesterday. In Ajmer district, 93.51% applicants cleared the examination. The victory ranking rate for boys & girls were 92.26% & 95.42% respectively. Ajmer area stood 2nd as Chennai area gained the top slot with 96.18% victory ranking rate. Board Examination will be abolished from upcoming yr.

A total of 9, 02,747 applicants (9.50% more than from 2009) had filed for the Board X Examination and 89.28% scholars clarified the examination . In 2009, 88.84% scholars clarified the test, with 90.68% girls clearing the test & 88.30% boys being successful. For the initial time, the results were not in the form of marks but in grades and applicants had mixed responses about it. Under the new grading method ranking, the CBSE has started a nine-point scale —A 1 (91-100 marks), A2 (81-90), B1 (71-80), B2 (61-70), C1 (51-60), C2 (41-50), D (33-40), E1 (21-32) and E2 (20 & below).

Under the new grading method, scholars who accessed the grades (A1 to D) would be awarded with pass certificates and hence become suitable to get admission in 11th Class. Those scholars who get E1 & E2 grades will get 5 opportunities for improving their performance. CBSE Board will too provide merit certificates to those applicants who secure A1 in all the 5 subjects.

In Ajmer area, 59,336 boys & 38,850 girls gave 10th class examination which were conducted from 3rd to 31st March 2010 and 54,745 boys & 37,070 girls became suitable for qualifying certificates. The total number of daily applicants in Ajmer area was 97,161 and the number of private candidates was 1,025 and their respective results were 94.05% & 42.24%.

As far as presentation of Ajmer schools is considered, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNV) & Kendriya Vidyalayas (KV) showed good result whereas government & private schools did not perform as per expectations. While 98.30% scholars in the JNV’s were suitable for qualifying certificates, 95.02% scholars of KVs received the feat. The % of gaining success in government schools is 64.72%.
