Rajnikanth’s daughter Soundarya got married here in Chennai on Friday in a traditional Brahmin ceremony. The groom Ashwin is a graduate from the Stanford University. Among the invitees who were present at the occasion were Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Union Home Minister P Chidambaram, and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi. The ruling DMK party members too were a part of the event.
However, All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam leader Jayalalitha could not attend the ceremony due to poll related assignments at another location. Rajnikanth himself managed and supervised all the arrangements at the wedding and has reportedly given away a new home to the couple as a wedding gift.
Thanking all the guests present, he also said that he wanted to invite all his fans for the occasion but could not do so because of the various constraints. He however, sought the blessings of all of them for his daughter and son-in-law.
