The day is particularly special in terms of the devotion that a wife shows towards her husband by going water and food less for an entire day.
This occasion begins before sunrise wherein the mother in laws offers their daughter in laws Sargi, which is a combination of food items which mark the begging of the fast. The fast is only broken after viewing the moon.
The women who observe this day put on their best clothes and look their best.
Another intricate part of this day is the Karva Chauth Katha which is recited by the older women who speak of the legend behind this auspicious occasion.
After the moon is sited the fasting women see the glittering moon through their puja sieves and then break the fast with the husband feeding them food and water.
Since this day is auspicious for so many women across the world therefore one can easily send out the festival wishes through Karva Chauth sms and Karva Chauth messages which are easily available on the internet. [Karwa Cauth Katha & Stories, Mehndi Design]
