South Delhi has finally managed to bag a place in the national capital’s metro map with the Central Secretariat-Qutab Minar route commencing its operation on 3rd September. According to the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation, the new line shall be inaugurated jointly by Union urban development minister Jaipal Reddy and Delhi CM Sheila Dikshit on Friday afternoon.

With the increasing changes taking place in the government and the upcoming election season, the government has finally put down it perspective in concern to the much debated and waited Direct Taxes Code Bill (DTC) this Monday in the ongoing spring session of the Lok sabha. This bill introduces a new proposition to the existing Tax deduction limits which will now be raised to an amount of Rs 2 lakh from the existing exemption limit of Rs 1.6 lakh.

When the water level of the river Yamuna crossed its point of danger, the residents had to face the occurrence of a flood in Delhi on Wednesday. The danger level that is 204.8 meters jumped over a marked rise causing the low lying areas to be eventually submerged under water in the capital. The rainfall in the city was recorded to be 617 mm, which is markedly much higher this year during this season in comparison to the previous years.

The river Yamuna is notably increasing in its level and has reached a meter above the danger level following which Yamuna Bridge closed above the route of rail and road traffic. Since the water level was on a rapid rise, the people who live by the banks of Yamuna were immediately taken away from the spot. More than 200 people have evacuated the spot and around 1500 people are living in relief camps, 160 in number that have been setup by the government for people who are facing troubles because of the rise in the water level and need shelter as they reside along the banks of the river.

Bageshwar, India: School building engulfs 17 innocent lives of its students

As the raining season has already hit the northern plains there have been serious incidents in the region due to the heavy outpour.

A school building collapsed due to heavy rainfall and a cloudburst which hit the region. In this fateful incident 17 children were found dead when the rescue workers excavated their bodies from the debris of the building.
